The late Harold Duncan Shaw Jr (16344.21423.2) and his wife, Barbara (Wissing) Shaw, have also researched Wilson Crocker and learned that he married at least twice and had children by both wives Tabitha and the widow Betsey Bearse.

Obituary:

Marstons Mills--Mr Wilson Crocker died on Sunday morning - the 20th inst, one of the oldest residents of this section having been born April 28 1808. His disease, erysipelas, progressed rapidly to its fatal termination, it being but one week from the time he was taken ill to the day of his death.

Mr Crocker had lived for the greater part of his life at the home where he died. He was, however, employed as a carpenter for a brief time on a plantation in South Carolina. He had also worked in Provincetown and Hingham in the earlier part of his life.

He was a man of strong temperance principles, a kind neighbor, and thoroughly honest in dealings with his fellowmen. He leaves a widow and three sons; one of the latter, Nelson W, is engaged in farming; another, Charles W served three years in the War of the Rebellion as a member of the 40th Mass. Volunteers Regiment. He is now general agent for the Illinois Mutual Insurance Co and lives at Chicago. His youngest son, Henry Ellis, has been a teacher for many years and is now Supt of Schools at Dedham Mass.

Funeral services held at the house on Tuesday last were conducted by Rev A H Somes.
