Obituary: DEXTER ME -- E Carl Crocker, 80, died January 25, 1995, at his home on Pleasant Street in Dexter. He was born March 15, 1914 in St Albans, the son of George & Lura (sic) (Libby) Crocker. He was a machinist at the Naval Torpedo Station in Newport R.I. during WWII and then worked for many years as a machinist for Fay Scott in Dexter. He owned and operated Crocker Bottled Gas & Appliance for several years.

Before his retirement, he worked as operator and assistant librarian for the state bookmobile. He was an active member of the First Baptist Church in Dexter and held many offices including deacon. He was a lifelong member of the Dexter Grange; a 65-year member of Plymouth Lodge IOOF No. 65, where he had served as noble grand, treasurer, district deputy and grand master.

He is survived by his wife, Winnifred (Rines) Crocker, a son and his wife, Barry and Ruth Crocker of Hampden; a daughter and her husband, Shirley and Bill Grant of Danforth, a brother, Ivan Crocker of St Albans, two sisters, Nancy Tibbetts of Newport and Jeane Martin of Brattleboro, VT; also by five grandchildren, Tropper Matthew Grant of Medway, Kelly Crocker of Hampden, Amy Grant-Thurlow of Newburgh, Cory Crocker of Hampden, and Sara Grant of Gloucester MA; a great-granddaughter, Abigail Grant of Medway, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Muriel Nelson and Thelma Patterson Smith.
