Note

Abel Crocker, a pioneer of Greene ME, was in Greene as a teenager prior to the town's incorporation in 1788. He ran the grist mill, known as Crocker's Mills, on Allen Stream. His was the first grist mill in town, erected by or shortly before 1786. It carried two sets of stones and did a good business. He removed to St. Albans in 1830.
