DUPLISEA, BESSIE THERESA – Bessie Duplisea of Grand Bay-Westfield, beloved wife of Allan Duplisea, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2014 at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Born in McAdam on August 19, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Annie (McSheffrey) Astorino. Bessie devoted her life to caring for her family and always looked forward to family gatherings. She was a woman of strong faith and was an avid supporter of various church activities. Bessie was extremely passionate about politics and spent many hours volunteering for numerous causes close to her heart. She also enjoyed a good game of bridge. In addition to her husband, Allan, Bessie is also survived by their children, Peggy Beaton of Quispamsis and David of Saint John; sisters, Helen Kelly of Saint John and Audrey McDonald (Jack) of Ottawa; brother, Gerald (Pauline) of McAdam; grandchildren, Michael, Kristina and Matthew; several nieces and nephews; as well as best friend of 62 years, Lois Baxter. She was predeceased by sisters, Mary McCann and Barb Crocker; brother, Frank and infant brothers, Angelo and Joseph; as well as son-in-law, Stephen.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111 Paradise Row, Saint John (634-7424) with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated from St. Matthew’s Church, Grand Bay-Westfield on Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at 10:00 AM. Interment will take place in St. Augustine’s Cemetery.
