First Lieutenant, USMC. Service ID: 033880. First Lieutenant Crocker was the pilot of an F4U-4 Corsair fighter with the Marine Fighter Squadron 312, Marine Air Group 12, 1st Marine Air Wing. On October 3, 1950, while on a combat mission of strafing enemy positions near Kycho, North Korea, his aircraft recieved a direct hit by anti-aircraft fire and crashed. First Lieutenant Crocker was awarded the Purple Heart, the Combat Action Ribbon, the Korean Service Medal, the United Nations Service Medal, the National Defense Service Medal, the Korean Presidential Unit Citation, and the Republic of Korea War Service Medal. |
