in Capt. Moses Lyman’s company, with his second wife’s first husband, Wait Deming, for fourteen days in 1757, during the alarm for the relief of Fort William Henry. Levi and sixteen other men rode their horses from Cornwall, Conn., to Fort Edward, New York, before starting for Fort William Henry. Wait Deming rode from Goshen, Conn., and joined them at Fort Edward. In 1758, Wait Deming served as armourer with Col. Eleazer Fitch’s Third Regiment from May 11 to Aug. 6, 1758, the date he died at Lake George |
