MYRTLE (CROCKER) HUMPHREY

EXETER Myrtle C. Humphrey, 80, died July 5, 2009, at a Bangor nursing home. She was born Oct. 23, 1928, in Exeter, a daughter of Charles and Estella (McCormack) Crocker. She graduated from Higgins Classical Institute. She was employed as a telephone operator, housekeeper, assisted her husband at the hen farm and retired as a clerical worker at the Brewer Junk Yard. Myrtle was a member of United Methodist Church, Corinth, and the Grange. She and her husband had great fun making maple syrup in the early spring and then going to the flea market during the summer selling both syrup and candy. She is survived by a son, Alvah; a daughter, Donna Humphrey, both of Exeter; a brother, Leland Bucky Crocker of Wisconsin; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Wallace, Feb. 22, 2009; a sister, Irene Vannoster; six brothers, Leon, Harold, Richard, Gerald Jack, Arnold Cuffy and Millard Rolland Crocker. Graveside services will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday, July 11, at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, with the Rev. Stan Griffin officiating.
