LEWISTON — Forrest E. Crocker, 91, a resident of Norris Hill Road, Monmouth, died Saturday, Nov. 27, at Central Maine Medical Center, after a brief illness.

He was born April 1, 1919, in Farmingdale, the son of Ivan Clinton and Rebecca Belle MacArthur Crocker. Forrest attended Erskine Academy in South China. He married Helen E. “Betty” Caswell in Augusta.

Forrest served proudly in the U.S. Army during World War II. He served with the ANG Army 101st in the 750 Tank Battalion. He furthered his military career by enlisting in the Maine Air National Guard in Bangor. He retired as a master sergeant after 26 years of service. He retired from Albany International in North Monmouth after 30 years.

Forrest enjoyed working in his flower and vegetable gardens, always having an abundance of veggies and berries and beautiful roses. He also enjoyed reading, nature and animals. He was a member of the Sergeants Club.

He is survived by his wife, Betty of Monmouth; three sons, Phillip E. Crocker and his wife, Carol, of Colonia, N.J., Michael K. Crocker of Ventura, Calif., and Daniel L. Crocker and his wife, Patricia, of Monmouth; two daughters, Meredith R. Smith of Portland and Betsy Foote and her husband, Michael, of North Monmouth; two brothers, Raymond A. Crocker of New Hampshire, and Lloyd Crocker of Pennsylvania; a sister, Glenis Caoutte of Old Saybrook, Conn.; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by two brothers, Ruel I. and Harold Crocker.
